Premium Horse Body Suits
Available in aqua and navy, the Lycra Body Suit comes with or without ears, as well as a tail sleeve. Made from high quality 200g nylon lycra, this horse body suit is a popular choice for many. Whether it’s to keep the mane flat, keeping your horse clean before an event, or even helping to prevent dust and shavings from ruining their coat, there are many reasons why a horse body suit is useful to have in your rug or tack room. The nylon lycra that the horse body suit is made from, is robust and isn’t prone to sagging, making it better than polyester lycra. Due to the zip from chin to chest and the 4 way stretch nylon lycra, this horse body suit is easy to put on and take off your horse. When we designed this horse body suit we thought about every detail, including adding a fleece band on the nose for additional comfort and to help prevent any rubbing.
At Ruggles, we also have a Nylon Water Repellent Lycra Body and Tail Sleeve, which is available with or without ears too. Also made from 200g nylon, the fit is similar to our other lycra body suit, but this one has the advantage of being water repellent, meaning it absorbs less moisture if you turn your horse out. It’s imperative to note that the material isn’t waterproof, it’s water repellent, which means that it will repel the water and absorb less, but it won’t stay completely dry.
High Quality Lycra Horse Hoods
In addition to our premium horse rugs and horse body suits, we also stock lycra horse hoods and nylon lycra horse hoods. Available in a wide range of colours, the Lycra Hood With Zip is also made from a 4 way stretch with a chin to chest zip, making it easy to take off and put on; ideal if your horse is head shy. To keep the lycra horse hood in place, we have added a strap between the front legs, as well as an elastic girth strap. Popular for use before a show or competition, this lycra horse hood comes in a zipped bag, so you can easily store it when you’re not using it.
At Ruggles, we also have water repellent horse hoods, if you would prefer just a horse stretch hood, as opposed to a whole lycra horse body suit. We have two water repellent horse hoods, one with a face and one without, allowing you to choose the horse stretch hood you prefer. If you are looking for a lycra horse hood to mainly keep the neck clean or keep the plaits in place, and you don’t want your horse’s face to be covered, then the Water Repellent Lycra Hood Without Face is perfect. Similar to the other lycra horse hoods in our range, this stretch hood is made from a high quality four way stretch lycra, however this lycra horse hood has been treated so it’s water repellent. Alternatively, if you don’t mind your horse’s face being covered and want to provide them with as much warmth as you can, our Water Repellent Lycra Hood ticks all the boxes.
